Refund Protection Cover

In case something unforeseen was to stop you coming to enjoy your stay at “Grooby’s Pit” we recommend you consider protecting your holiday. Our booking terms & conditions are such that if you cancel your stay you may not get a refund and you could lose out financially as a result.

All online bookings will be offered refund protection through Xcover.com at the time of booking. This enables guests to apply for a refund of monies paid should they or anyone in the party be unable to stay in certain predefined circumstances including:

You’re covered if you are unable to attend due to…

  • An injury, or an illness affecting you or a member of your immediate family.
  • Public authorities issue a travel warning for the day of arrival or the day prior. These warnings include but are not limited to adverse weather and terrorism.
  • The emergency services require your presence at home within 48 hours before the arrival date

Go to xcover.com/claim to start your claim. The claims team prioritises those claims that are filed within 7 days of the claim event. Claims must be submitted within 45 days of the booked event

  • Provide a detailed description of the event.

For all claims they require, as a minimum, a detailed description of the event. They may request documents during the claim process such as booking invoices and receipts. If required documents are not provided to them the claim may be rejected or the status changed to “Pending”.

We always recommend guests consider taking out suitable refund protection or some form of travel/cancellation insurance. In doing so guests make their own informed choice as to the suitability of this policy based on their own circumstances and its terms and conditions.
